Privacy Policy

Overview
JSON Studio is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our tools.
Data Processing
All JSON processing happens locally in your browser. When you use any of our tools (formatter, validator, diff, visualizer, code generator, transformer, or mock data generator), your data is processed entirely on your device using JavaScript. We do not send your JSON data to our servers or any third-party services.
Information We Collect
Analytics Data
We use two analytics platforms to understand how our tools are used and to improve user experience:
1. Plausible Analytics (Default - No Consent Required)
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics platform that runs by default. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data collected includes:
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Referrer sources (where visitors come from)
- Browser type and operating system
- Geographic region (country-level only)
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual users from this data. Plausible is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR, and stores data on EU-owned infrastructure.
Learn more at Plausible's Data Policy.
2. Google Analytics (Optional - Requires Consent)
With your explicit consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for more detailed usage insights. GA4 collects:
- Page views and user navigation flows
- Tool usage patterns (which tools you use, how often)
- Session duration and engagement metrics
- Device information and browser capabilities
- Geographic location (city-level)
Important: We never track or send your JSON data to Google Analytics. Only usage patterns and page views are recorded. Your sensitive data stays private and local to your browser.
We have configured Google Analytics with privacy-enhanced settings:
- IP anonymization enabled
- No personally identifiable information (PII) collected
- Cookieless tracking where possible
- Respect for browser Do Not Track (DNT) settings
You can control whether Google Analytics is enabled using the settings panel below. Your choice is stored locally and respected across all visits.
Learn more at Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Data Privacy.
Local Storage
We use browser localStorage to save your preferences, including:
- Indentation settings for JSON formatting
- Theme choice (light/dark mode)
- Analytics consent preference (accept/decline Google Analytics)
This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Analytics Preference Management
You have full control over whether Google Analytics is enabled. Use the settings panel below to accept or decline Google Analytics tracking. Your preference will be saved and remembered on future visits.
Analytics Preferences
Control whether Google Analytics is enabled on this site. We use privacy-focused Plausible Analytics by default (no consent required).
Google Analytics
Current status: unset
• We never track your JSON data or sensitive information
• Only usage patterns and page views are collected
• You can change this setting at any time
• Your browser's Do Not Track setting is always respected
Cookies
JSON Studio does not use cookies. We rely on localStorage for preference management, which is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Plausible Analytics
Privacy-focused analytics platform (no consent required):
- Does not use cookies
- Does not collect personal data
- Fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR
- Stores data on EU-owned infrastructure
Learn more at Plausible Data Policy.
Google Analytics
Advanced analytics platform (requires your consent):
- Loads only after you accept in the consent banner
- Configured with IP anonymization
- Never receives your JSON data or sensitive information
- Respects your browser's Do Not Track setting
- Can be disabled at any time using settings above
Learn more at Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting
JSON Studio is hosted on Vercel. While Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request times, HTTP headers) for infrastructure monitoring and security purposes, this data is not accessible to us and is handled in accordance with Vercel Privacy Policy.
Data Security
Since all JSON processing happens in your browser, your data never leaves your device. This "client-side only" approach is the most secure way to handle sensitive data, as there is no risk of data interception during transmission or storage on external servers.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, modify, or delete. You have full control over any data stored in your browser's localStorage, which you can clear at any time.
Children's Privacy
JSON Studio does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Our tools are designed for developers and professionals and do not target children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
